Mihailo Bjelic, co-founder of Polygon, has introduced his determination to step down from the board of Polygon Basis.
The Polygon (POL) co-founder revealed the transfer by way of a post on X on Friday, Could 23, 2025, noting that he may also “wind down” his day-to-day involvement with Polygon Labs.
“Polygon was born in 2019, and we’ve come a great distance since then,” Bjelic wrote. “From important breakthroughs in zero-knowledge tech, to onboarding among the world’s greatest manufacturers, we’ve made significant strides towards that grand imaginative and prescient. I’m pleased with this, and grateful for the privilege to work with so many proficient individuals.”
Bjelic notes that he first entered the crypto area in 2013, along with his foray into the ecosystem seeing “deep down the rabbit gap” by 2017.
He co-founded Polygon, a layer-2 scaling answer on Ethereum (ETH) alongside Jaynti Kanani, Sandeep Nailwal and Anurag Arjun. The venture, among the many most searched proof-of-stake blockchain within the U.S. in 2023, rebranded from its preliminary title Matic Community.
