OLATUNJI Ifabiyi, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Home of Assembly, says the Assembly is not going to maintain plenary until the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji, resign.
Ifabiyi, in an interview with the Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Akure, reiterated that majority of the lawmakers have been in help the Speaker’s elimination.
The Assembly has been in disaster following name for the Speaker’s resignation for allegedly unilateral reordering of the Ondo State Oil Producing Improvement Fee, OSOPADEC 2025 price range of N9.2 billion.
NAN experiences that 21 of the 26 members of the Assembly had signed a decision to question the Speaker if he didn’t resign.
“We’ve got resolved to not maintain plenary until there’s a change of Speaker.
“For now, there is no such thing as a growth besides that Mr Speaker ought to simply give means and permit one other particular person to preside over the Ondo State Home of Assembly.
“If he doesn’t resign, we’ll impeach him. If he fails to do the needful, we’ll do the needful,” he mentioned.
The spokesperson, who didn’t disclose when the Assembly would convene for plenary, said that he was not aware of any assembly on Sunday with the state govt in resolving the disaster.
Ifabiyi additionally mentioned that the allegation of assassination on a member of the Assembly had been reported to the suitable authorities for investigation.
Talking to NAN, a principal officer of the Assembly, who spoke on anonymity, mentioned that the state govt had intervened within the disaster.
“There was a peace dealer yesterday(Sunday) with the chief and we aren’t permitted to reveal particulars of the end result of the assembly.
“I don’t wish to be the primary to breach the settlement. However I can inform you that the matter has been resolved however I can’t inform you if it was on the favour of anyone.
