Former Peoples Democratic Get together, PDP, governorship candidate in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, has resigned his membership of the opposition get together amid its extended inside disaster.
Jegede communicated his resolution in a resignation letter dated August 7, 2026, addressed to the chairman of the PDP in Ward 11, Owode/Imagun Ward, Akure South Native Authorities Space, Fabiyi Kole Adewale.
The previous governorship candidate acknowledged that his departure from the get together took speedy impact.

Jegede, a former Lawyer-Basic and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State below former Governor Olusegun Mimiko, was the PDP’s flag bearer within the 2016 and 2020 governorship elections.
He contested each polls towards the late former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, however was unsuccessful on every event.
