Scammers posing as Sheriff’s Office asks for Bitcoin

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – Residents are suggested to watch out for rip-off calls claiming to be a Sergeant Ryan Summers from the Ward County Sheriff’s Division.

Officers mentioned the scammer claimed the citizen had failed to point out up for jury responsibility and now a warrant for arrest has been issued.

The scammer was telling residents to get Bitcoin to pay for the bond.

The Sheriff’s Office urged residents to not present any private data to anybody over the telephone that could be suspicious.

Officers won’t ever ask for any kind of cost over the telephone.

To report any suspicious exercise, name the Ward County Sheriff’s Division or your native legislation enforcement.
