NEW DELHI: Chairperson of the Indian Abroad Congress, Sam Pitroda, mentioned on Saturday that his laptop, smartphone and server have been hacked repeatedly over the previous few weeks. The hackers have issued threats to him, demanding cost of tens of thousands of {dollars} in cryptocurrency.
In an e mail to information company ANI, Pitroda mentioned, “I wish to deliver to your consideration a vital matter my laptop, smartphone and server have been repeatedly hacked and severely compromised over the previous few weeks.”
The hackers have threatened to wreck his fame if he fails to pay tens of thousands of {dollars} in cryptocurrency.
“The hackers have issued threats, demanding cost of tens of thousands of {dollars} in cryptocurrency. They’ve warned that if unpaid they are going to launch a smear and misinformation marketing campaign to tarnish my fame by contacting individuals in my community,” he elaborated.
In his e mail, Pitroda additional suggested to not click on any unknown hyperlinks and warned of malware that would hurt gadgets.
“When you obtain any emails or messages that look like about me from any unknown e mail/cellular no, I urge to to not open them, to not click on on my hyperlinks and to not obtain any attachments (Simply Delete it) could comprise malware that would compromise your personal gadgets,” he cautioned.
