Seth Rogen should be one of the few Canadian exports with rising prospects within the US proper now. Maybe the Nice White North’s brightest star, Rogen has re-teamed with artistic accomplice Evan Goldberg for The Studio, a new comedy sequence out there now on Apple TV+. It’s a hilarious behind-the-curtain satire of Hollywood, setting out as its principal stall the crucial of saving an ailing film enterprise.
The sequence kicks off at a break-neck tempo. Inside minutes, Rogen’s character Matt Remick learns his revered mentor Amy (Catherine O’Hara) has been ruthlessly sacked. His promotion to studio chief by Continental Footage mogul Griffin Mill (Bryan Cranston) is a fait accompli. Cranston is one of a golden line-up of superstar cameos, who largely play themselves and are too quite a few to checklist.
