The official X account tied to meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE) celebrated the rescue of a German Shepherd on Wednesday after a group member was initially stopped from adopting the canine.
Dogecoin Community To The Rescue Of Sherman?
Dogecoin credited group strain for the discharge of the canine, named “Sherman.”
“We did it,” the deal with wrote. “Folks energy works.”
The controversy started when Doge Van, a widely known member of the DOGE group and canine rescuer, claimed that the Downey Animal Shelter in Los Angeles canceled the adoption, citing a “clerical error” on Sherman’s aggression standing.
Doge Van denied that the canine was “aggressive,” including that the shelter would put the animal down due to a knowledge entry error.
He urged the group to lift the difficulty by immediately calling the officers on the adoption facility.
A day later, Doge Van disclosed on X that the shelter agreed to launch Sherman into his care.
“I am deeply grateful to everybody who spoke up, shared his story, and confirmed compassion when it mattered most,” Doge Van mentioned.
The shelter didn’t instantly reply to Benzinga’s request for remark.
