KENTUCKY (WKYT) – The bitcoin mining company TeraWulf introduced it’s increasing in eastern Kentucky with the acquisition of a brand new high-performance computing improvement website known as the Muskie Data Campus.

The company mentioned the campus may help multiple gigawatt of data center capability over time. An preliminary 500 megawatts is anticipated to start ramping up in the second half of 2028, with one other 500 megawatts focused for 2030.

The positioning sits on about 1,000 acres at Eastpark Industrial Park, with roughly 285 acres managed for hyperscale improvement and room to increase. TeraWulf mentioned the venture is tied to main energy upgrades, together with a 345-kilovolt substation connecting into the 765-kilovolt transmission community, geared toward delivering redundant, utility-scale energy.

Company leaders mentioned entry to energy and transmission is now the most important constraint for giant AI and computing tasks. They’re pitching the campus as a shovel-ready website that would carry building exercise, long-term expert jobs and new funding to the area.
