A 38-year-old man, Nsikak Kingsley, has been arrested for allegedly beating his father, Adone Peter, 65, to death at Oda Group in Akure South Native Authorities Space of the State.
The Ondo State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed this on Thursday, including that the suspect dedicated the dastardly act following an argument between him and the deceased that reportedly led to bodily assault.
Jimoh ssaid the incident has generated widespread concern amongst residents of the world as “preliminary investigation revealed that on twenty eighth Might, 2026, the suspect allegedly engaged his father in a violent altercation which escalated right into a bodily assault.
“Through the confrontation, the deceased reportedly sustained extreme accidents, notably to the top. He was instantly rushed to a medical facility for pressing medical consideration.
“Sadly, regardless of efforts by medical personnel, the attending physician confirmed him useless whereas receiving therapy.”
He stated the command apprehended the suspect after his brother lodged a grievance at a close-by police station, after which the operatives swung into motion.
In 2024, the Police Command in Lagos State detained a 25-year-old man, Chibunnma Chimelie, who allegedly stabbed his 68-year-old father to death.
