LAHORE – Managing Director of Sui Northern Gas has suggested all of the regional normal managers to stay on station and keep round the clock vigilance to make sure uninterrupted restoration of gas supply in flood-affected areas. Current floods have induced some injury to SNGPL’s distribution infrastructure in Swat, Mardan, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Gujrat and different areas, affecting gas supply to roughly 3,383 shoppers and damaging round 7,480 meters of distribution community.
Swift mobilization of subject groups has enabled restoration of gas supply to over 90% of affected areas in Mardan Area, whereas in Swat and Dir, supply to 47,000 of the 48,000 impacted shoppers has been restored — with 35,000 shoppers reconnected inside three hours of the preliminary disruption. Restore and reconstruction actions are ongoing in all affected areas. In Sialkot and Gujrat, restoration work for practically 2,000 shoppers will start as quickly as floodwaters subside. In Swat, 25-km of the broken community has already been rebuilt, whereas reconstruction stays pending in severely impacted localities — together with Bangladesh (480 connections), Mula Baba (200 connections), and Landykas & Makan Bagh (400 connections) because of the full washout of infrastructure and roughly 200 totally broken service traces.
