A middle-aged Macau girl has reported shedding HKD974,000 (about MOP1 million) in a suspected romance scam after being persuaded to take a position in cryptocurrency, in line with the Judiciary Police (PJ).
The girl met a person claiming to work in Singapore by means of a social media platform in April, and the pair later developed a web-based romantic relationship. In Could, the person allegedly inspired her to take a position in cryptocurrency by means of a chosen utility.
