ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WSBT) — An Elkhart man is behind bars after investigators say they discovered child sex abuse material on his digital units.
22-year-old Zakary Defreese has now been charged with ten counts of possession of child sex abuse material.
Police say the investigation started with a cyber tip about cryptocurrency exercise allegedly linked to the acquisition and sale of child sex abuse material on the darkish net.
After serving a search warrant at a house on Wooden Avenue, officers say they recovered multiple photographs and movies.
Defreese’s bond has been set at $5,000.
