BASEL, Switzerland — Joao Fonseca’s household arrived simply in time to watch the Brazilian teenager win the largest title of his profession on the Swiss Indoors on Sunday.
Fonseca beat Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-3, 6-4 within the final and can rise to a career-high No. 28 on this planet rankings on Monday.
“My parents have simply arrived from Brazil. They had been going to Paris (for the Paris Masters), however they modified their flights and arrived an hour earlier than the match with my uncles,” the 19-year-old Fonseca stated.
“It’s unimaginable to have them right here for a very powerful title of my profession.”
It was his first title at ATP 500 stage.
