Three Manchester fast-food workers have been charged for their alleged involvement in a card-skimming and cryptocurrency laundering ring.
The staff are 29-year-old Shaquiel Salmon of Swaby’s Hope District, 20-year-old Abigail Preddie, a cashier of Confidence Avenue, and 20-year-old Shane Williams, of Knowles Street, all from Manchester.
The workers who had been arrested throughout a particular operation on Saturday, are charged with unauthorised entry to laptop information, easy larceny, conspiracy to defraud, and fascinating in a transaction involving felony property.
Their arrests come after a consumer of a distinguished financial institution reported unauthorised transactions totalling greater than $600,000.
Police say Williams allegedly photographed clients’ credit score and debit card info whereas working in the restaurant’s drive-thru line.
This info was then reportedly used to buy bitcoin from abroad retailers.
The cryptocurrency was resold and the laundered funds had been transferred again into native accounts.
