Members of the Educational Employees Union of Universities (ASUU) of Adekunle Ajasin College, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) Department, Ondo State have declared an indefinite strike over alleged unpaid salaries by the state authorities.
This adopted the decision reached on the union’s congress held on Friday over the non-payment of Could and June 2026 salaries.
The Chairman of ASUU, AAUA Department, Prof. Boluwaji Oshodi, whereas chatting with the Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) in Akure, the Ondo State capital, confirmed that the union has formally notified the college’s administration of its choice.
In accordance with him, the decision reached on the congress reaffirmed the union’s earlier choices of April 28 and June 18, 2026 to withdraw educational companies over the non-payment of salaries.
Oshodi mentioned: “The bottom for the entire and indefinite strike is that we’ve got not been paid Could and June salaries.
“Our members have been directed to droop all educational actions till the 2 months’ salaries are absolutely paid.
“Now we have a standing Nationwide Government Council (NEC) decision that if by the third of the following month, the earlier month’s wage is just not paid, we’re going to declare an industrial motion.
“, we nonetheless waited for Could, we waited for June, and for July, we waited till the tenth of July, which is in the present day, earlier than we declared the motion.”

Oshodi blamed the state authorities for not fulfilling its obligations, particularly funding, to the college.
“The issue is just not with the administration; the issue is with the Ondo State Authorities that refused to fund the college adequately,” the ASUU chairman mentioned.
Efforts to get the college’s spokesperson, Victor Akinpelumi, for feedback have been unsuccessful.
